EP 003 - Jared Dillian
Jared Dillian was, for the most part, raised in SouthEastern Connecticut in the eighties and early nineties. He attended the United States Coast Guard Academy, graduating in 1996, and served out his five-year service commitment, mostly on the West Coast. Here, he finished his MBA at the University of San Francisco and worked on the floor of the Pacific Options Exchange. Hired by Lehman Brothers in 2001, he moved to New York and started working there just weeks before the terrorist attacks of 9/11. The firm relocated to Times Square, where Jared worked for seven years before the bankruptcy in 2008. It was here that he formed the basis of his experience for his memoir, STREET FREAK: Money and Madness at Lehman Brothers. Following the bankruptcy, Jared founded his own financial publishing business, The Daily Dirtnap, LLC, which provides daily market commentary and insight to a range of institutional clients. Jared also is a regular contributor to Mauldin Economics and a variety of online publications, and is an adjunct professor at Coastal Carolina University. He lives in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, pretty much right on the beach. Fun fact: Jared is also a DJ in his spare time, known as Stochastic, and produces deep house mixes along with other unique long-form electronic sets.
